Re: port and polishing
First of all, port and polish plus new cam gears and a few minor things will add a great difference in how the car gets up and goes. And yes there is a place that makes an exhaust manifold for a 3g. It is a place in North Carolina and they can be found on the net by going through a search engine on custom exhaust manifolds

Re: port and polishing
Well, he asked for an intake manifold, and no, no one makes one for the 3G. Exhaust manifolds, aka headers, are made by a couple of different companies.

what is port and polish exactly? hw much do they usually cost? and are there any bad side effects such engine life. i'm an amateur when it comes to engine modification/upgrade and was told to have a port and polish done. Just want to understand it a little bit more.

Re: port and polishing
it actualy will increese the lifespan of the engine, and allow for air and gases to travel through the process with much more ease.

Re: port and polishing
Well they make custom intake manifolds too, as well as complete custom turbo systems to really beef up your car. WWW.GUDEPERFORMANCE.COM
that's where you need to go for more on port and polish plus more internal junk. I did it and I am at about 210+ hp to the wheels! It only costed 1500 bucks and it is worth every penny if you are like me and actually appreciate Naturally Aspired HP. |

Re: port and polishing
I'm assuming naturally aspired HP means non-turbo?

Re: port and polishing
You would be assuming correctly, that is exactly what it means

Re: port and polishing
Not that there is anything wrong with turbo's and things like that but I prefer NA over turbo's since I've experienced both and turbo's take a little more taking care of than I care for.

You can buy a port and polishing kit for about $50.00 or $60.00 bucks and do the job yourself. It may take a few hours and some practice, but its not that hard. Just take your time, and go slow. It worth the time.

Re: port and polishing
Yea but how do you know that it is exact measurement without a machine laser that does know the measurement is perfect. How do you practice on your engine? If you screw up you can't put more back on? I am curious. Well you still have to order the rest of the internals because you can't do those by your self. And with Gude there is a warranty policy incase something isn't right. Where can you get this port and polish kit you are talking about?

Re: port and polishing
You should talk to Gude about making a 4G64 Intake manifold, production wise. I know ALOT of people who would jump on it, and not just eclipses. Galants, Sebrings, Stratus', etc.

first to find a port and polishing kit its easy. just enter "port and polishing kit" in your search engine, you'll find a half dozen sited that sell them. Like summitracing.com , or you can probably go to your local automotive store and pick up one, there not that hard to find if you look. About the measurements i dont know if it has to be exactly "lazer measured". I helped my uncle port and polish his chevelle and we didnt use any "lazers" and it still runs just fine. Why pay someone several hundered dollars or more for something when you can just do it your self. I also didnt say to "practice on your engine" i said practice, like practicing with the tool before you use it.
