2000 tacoma, A/C compressor will not stop after turning off the switch on the dash. Still blowing cold air.
Any one have a wiring diagram they could email me? I am going to start by unplugging the connector from the compressor to see if maybe the clutch is stuck. Anyone else have this trouble. Any help would be appreciated, anyone know if and where the relay for the a/c unit is located? Thanks, Motoman00019 |

Make sure you don't have your ventilation switch set to any defrost mode. On a lot of cars now, if you have your front window defrost selected or defrost/front floor, the A/C will automatically be on, regardless of the switch selection for the A/C. It is supposed to make defrosting more effective.

The whole principle behind the compressor being on when in defrost is this:
In the cold climates, winter, the a/c is not used. Having the compressor engage when in defrost, keeps the a/c system, pump, lines lubed and keeps the seals from drying out. |
