Install a Tach on a '94 tracker

Does anyone have a pic of where to put the wires and how to run it though the firewall? Also what is the Redline for a "4cylinder 1.6L I-4 MPI"? I would like to know how to install one before I spend $50 on a Tach.

How much does a good Tach cost? I saw some at Autozone for about $30 -$50. Does that sound about right?

I'm not to crazy about taking out the gauges. I'm new to all of this and I think thats over my head. Maybe if their was a "how to" I might do it.

in the amount of time that it would take you to put in the tach you could swap out your gauge cluster , grab a haynes manual , it will tell you step by step how to do it , but if you still want to use an aftermarket tach the manual will help you locat the wires you will need to splice into

Re: Install a Tach on a '94 tracker

how are the gauges attached?

Just plug in and out? I'm guessing i would have to install the green wire to the (-) of the engine coil (witch i have no idea on where that is at)

Sounds good, I'll start looking on eBay for a cluter.

Junkyards around here don't have much. They are all striped of usfull parts.

Do you have the frame that goes over the handle to keep it in place? It kinda looks like a pentagon. It's held on with one screw.

What are you drving now that your tracker is blown?

http://www.insomica.com/my/tracker/brokenhandle.jpg I took a pic of what is broken. If you have the handle part how much would it cost? (item+S&H)

The handle normal just hangs down and you have to pull it towards the egnine to get the door to open.
