Speed Dometer doesn't work 97 Lumina

I need help in finding out why my speed dometer dosen't work. If anyone can help me I would apprciate it.

The speedometer is electronic- the speed of the vehicle is picked up by the speed sensor module on the right axle shaft housing. The part is around 75.00 and is not repairable. The module is attached with 2 screws and is very easy to R&R but very hard to see.
If the car shifts OK- it may be the speedo head.
