throttle response blows

hey fellas when i hop on the throttle it takes a good 3 seconds before it startes to give me the rigth power. if i put the cobra trhottle body on it while it solve my problem? i have a friend who has a shop and he says hell giev me one for free.

is there any way i can just alter my throttle body? put a pmaller spring on it or shorten the cabels?

I agree with stang_racer20 it sound like a transmission problem.If your rpm's shoot up and it takes you 3-4 seconds to takeoff hard then your tranny is going bad.Is the car an auto?

no my rpms dont go up quickly either im not saying it isnt the tranny but it goes really slow untill it hits 3000 then it picks up like it should when i hit the pedle

Maybe it's the car then.Get some gears and I guarantee when you hit the pedal your car will take off much more faster then you are now.Especially below 3000 rpm's.If nothing is wrong with your tranny then gears is the answer to your problem.

Heck if he'll give you a Cobra T-body for free go for it. It won't solve your problem but would be a nice add on once fixed. I would check for vacume leaks as that will impact your low end range. If your lucky a line just came loose.
