removing emissions

i live in iowa where emissions mean nothing unless you are driving a huge diesel. i was wondering where i could find some info on loosing all my emissions crap. the only thing that the state regulates is a catylitic converter. and the only way they do that is by regulating the muffler shops. (they cannot sell test pipes or work on a car that has one) but anyways if anyone has any info on this or could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. thank you!
(i want to loose it all!)

Removing emissions for the sake of removing emissions is a waste of effort.

If you gut your catalytic converters (the two precats and the main one) or put in straight piping, you'll spend some money and be in violation of emissions and have improved performance. However, if you just want rip out your exhaust to vent straight out of the engine, you can do that for no money and be in violation of emissions with no improvement in performance.

What I suggest you do is get a high flow cat. It'll keep you legal and improve air flow. You could also take your cat and gut it. From the outside it looks normal but acts more like straight piping would.

Re: removing emissions

i want to remove everythin. like smog ect. i do not have to worry about taking my car in to have it checked for emmissions so i can remove all of it including whats in the engine bay. there has to be gains under the hood without the emmissions crap
