I'm new to modelling as well with only one model beneath my belt. I can tell you this. Read the "Important" threads at the top and don't hesitate to ask questions. Jay (jay@af), Dan (Guiddy) and Warren (Primera Man) are some our most prolific members. Guiddy, I believe, is doing that Calsonic kit, you should ask him about specific questions. Hope that helps!

Here are some general things I've picked up:

Take it slow. Modelling is not one of those things that you can do quickly.
It can be expensive, but the result (in my opinion) is well worth it.
Many things are dangerous (fumes, hobby knifes) (I've had my own painful experiences with the hobby knifes! D'oh!)
Enjoy yourself and make sure that the model doesn't get the better of you.

Welcome to the modeling board. Some of the modelers here produce amazing works of art.

It also appears that SpOoKsDaWg805 is doing that same Calsonic Skyline.

Welcome to the mad house !!!

Best advise is to take your time and have a good read through the threads that we have done. There is plenty of info to help you out. When you start your kit just ask away with the questions...we are always here to help out.

At this stage though......get to know the kit so you could almost paint and glue it without reading the instructions. Gets a good understanding of the kit it start with. From there its just time and practice
