2001 chevy c1500 alarm sticks

I was wanting to know if anyone else has had a problem with their antithief system on any of the 2000 or 2001 year silverados. The issue is that it acts like the deterent system is still engaged even thou the doors unlock. I lock and unlock the system with the remote several times and the truck will finally start right up. It sounds like no fuel when I try to crank it, I don't know if that is what the deterent is about.

It's your passkey system going bad. It is very common on almost all GM vehicles. I've been lucky with mine so far but have heard many have not.
