Exclamation Current F1 projects - all 1:43 *Lots of Pics*

Hi, my Jordan got some interest, so I promised some pics of the other cars on my bench. Most are only just started (i.e. primer), but if you show enough interest I'll keep you all posted

First up, and closest to done is Jean Alesi's Ferrari F412T2 from Brazil the Brazillian GP in 1995. It just needs brakes, hubs and wheels to be done...

Next is a Lotus 99T which is waiting for a polish and a chassis...

The Lotus 79 will be the green Martini car from the 79 Argentine GP, I'm currently working on the motor and gearbox for it. I will be spraying the green on to the body today...

The Williams FW12 of T. Boutsen is being decalled at the moment, and I'm also building the wheels and suspesion...

And finally I'm currently fettling the body work for the F2003GA that Rubens took to third in Itally last year. I will also be doing Schumacher's car, but that will be a bit special as it will be a 'body off' model, again in 1:43.

I hope you like what you see, the only thing missing is the F126 C4 that is just having the last decals added, you'll see that when it's done. If you have any comments or want to see more please let me know. I love feedback!

Re: Current F1 projects - all 1:43 *Lots of Pics*

All great stuff Lotus man, quite a production line. The pictures defy their size, they could very well be 1/24th or 1/20th. Are they all Tameo kits? I especially love the 79. If only Tamiya had waited a year and tooled it in 1/12 rather than the 78...

Please promise to keep us updated with progress and finished pics. Do you build in other scales or exclusively 1/43rd?

Re: Current F1 projects - all 1:43 *Lots of Pics*

They are all 1:43 Tameo kits. I build a lot of 1:43, although not exclusivelly. The '79 was actually shipped by mistake, I ordered a 102b... but I love the 79 anyway so I figured I'd build it anyway!

For race cars I'm a 1:43 man, but I do build the odd 1:24 tuner for a break. It's bad to get stuck in a rut.

For those that fancy a 1:43 F1 car, but are intimidated I'm going to do a detailed step by step thread real soon of a Tameo McLaren as raced by Senna at Donnington in '93. Hopefully it'll get some more people interested in what I think is an over looked area of model car building. They aren't as hard as they look once you get to grips with them!

Very cool models. I'll be looking forward to that detailed thread, as you've captured my interest with these cars. There was a build up of a 1:43 car in Scale Auto a while back, and I thought it was great. The more I see these white metal kits the more interesting they seem.

I especially like the photos above, with the wheels off you can really see the evolution of F1 in progress. Keep posting, please, even though a lot of people don't love your cars a little, a few of us love them a lot (and may not post because of ignorance on the subject of F1... doesn't mean I don't like seeing them!)
