Hi
I just put a timing belt in the old one broke, the timing belt is to tight now part # matches but i have to be overlooking something on tensioner. i get a little howl from belt now ichecked waterpump & tensioner bearings hen i installed the belt they were fine. but i had to force belt on useing a ratchet on cam bolt. the tensioner seems spring loaded but beyond that i had to overlook a secondary adjustment on it? ive installed belt in other cars & i can tell this one is by far to tight. Help please thanks a lot |

ok figered it out the waterpump on this 2.0 engine is how you ajust this timing belt. i think its a bad design its a pain in the butt, but i got it together again and it runs fine with no noise now . You will have to pull cam sprocket and crank spocket to do this if you put a new waterpump in wicth i would reccomend when your this deep into motor anyway. I would reccomend a good repair manual, maybe chiltons ,haynes not that great.
