I've searched unsuccessfully for some threads, so here goes. The dashboard is developing small cracks on top (probably where the sun is beating it all day). 1998 Camry LE, blue vinyl. Is this a DIY job or should a pro be brought in? ANY DIY success stories (or not). Thanks in advance.

Re: Dashboard cracking - need repair advice
My best advice to you would be to take it to a pro. You can buy the plastic/vinyl welder yourself, although there is still the possibility for non-professional results. I've heard plenty of horror stories from DIYs when it comes to the dash cracks. Most cases, some people just either replace the dash, or take it to be professionally repaired.

Re: Dashboard cracking - need repair advice
What kind of shop would fix it? A detail shop? A body shop?

Re: Dashboard cracking - need repair advice
Actually, I think both of them will do it. If not a detail shop, then most definitely a body shop.
