Making of – Citroën 2CV (* Progress Pics*)

Well, it’s time for a new project.
Not just another car, but a classic of all times.

The always beautiful Citroen 2CV. This will be my second non competition model and it is nice to build a car without decals just for a change.
The body is painted with TS-23 (Light Blue) witch is a colour that I rally think suits this car. More progress to come.

Re: Making of – Citroën 2CV (* Progress Pics*)

The 2CV is such a great car. However, every time I see one I think about a story we read in french class, back in high school, about a girl in a red 2CV that was driving through the mountains behind a circus. The elepahant truck was right in front of her, and broke down or something, and the elephant got out. The elephant saw the 2CV, mistook it for a stool used in the show, and sat on the car. HA! Well, at least, it was funny when reading it in french.

Anyway.... I'm looking forward to seeing this come out, to see this car benefit from the Gainsbourg treatment.

BTW, who's the hot chick in your avatar?

Very left of center project for you Nuno! Your talents will undoubtedly do this classic old vehicle justice. Already like the colour, who makes the kit?

You know according to old ads of the time a 2CV is faster than a Ferrari!

Good job so far, colour suits it very well.

I like the 2cv as much as I like the beetle, so I'll follow it very carefully.

==> Rallyraider: I think it's an old Tamiya kit

That must be one of the coolest kits ever made, even features working suspention IIRC !

And the colour is just spot on for this kind of classic !

Funky!

Back for some more progress on this one.
Yes, his is a Tamiya model, released in 1995. It took me about two years to find it.
I found it in a Singapore on-line shop and this was the last one.

Stage one of the engine is done, and the wheels and suspensions connected to the chassis. As bigfrit was telling, this model has a simple but full working suspension.
Body will rest some more days before working on the panel lines so it’s time to start working on the interior.

Re: Making of – Citroën 2CV (* Progress Pics*)

You need update's on this kit! My father in law is a painter and he paints automotive art witha French wine region backdrop. So, for Xmas I want to build a diaorama with a back drop of one of his paintings with walls out of foam/styrene/whatever and the cars and people to depict the actual painting. The Citroen is one of a few cars I need to build.
