2002 Boxster S to be in my garage soon!

I am about to take over a lease for a 2002 Boxster S that is very under mileage. I have never had a leased car before. My understanding of leases is that all maintenance and problems with the car are handled by the dealer. Is this true for Porsches also? I expect to change the oil on the car, but nothing else on it. There is only one year left on the lease, and I will be the one to return the car to the dealer.

Can anybody advise me of anything I am missing and/or not aware of?

Thanks.

Re: 2002 Boxster S to be in my garage soon!

you get 4year/50k miles for warranty and nothing more. if you go over either of those wether your leasing or not your warranty is up. if you miss routine maintenances your warranty will be voided. tires last an average of 10-12k miles. brakes last an average 30k miles. oil changes every 7500 miles. oil services are not cheap. the 7500 mile service runs 220.00 and the 15k service runs 350.00 and the 30k service runs 800.00. they are not cheap to drive but if you can afford it buy all means buy it. good luck!

Wow, an S! Congratulations! Are you taking over a lease from Swapalease? I'm very interested and very curious how it will all work out. Please keep us posted on anything and everything about taking over a lease. Leasing is the only way I can get Boxster right now and the more I look at it, the more Swapalease is becoming attractive. Also, please update us on out of pocket costs because I'd like to get a good idea on overall cost of having one of my dream cars.
