ASTON MARTIN LAUNCHES APPROVED PRE-OWNED CAR PROGRAMME
20 January 2004

Aston Martin has announced a comprehensive Approved Pre-owned Car Programme that will give its UK customers direct access to a wide range of pre-owned cars throughout the country.

Aston Martin selected service provider Global Beach Automotive to design a bespoke internet-based car locator at www.amapproved.com. Initially available just in the UK, this website will provide instant access to pre-owned Aston Martins at all of the 18 strong UK dealer network.

Ian Minards, General Manager Sales at Aston Martin, said: “We intend to launch the programme in this country first and then in time roll it out to our 100 dealers worldwide.

“The advantage is that it offers potential customers instant access to our dealers’ stock enabling them to find the correct vehicle very quickly. Furthermore, customers can purchase an Approved Aston Martin safe in the knowledge that they are buying it from an official Aston Martin dealer.”

The Aston Martin Approved Pre-owned Car Programme will cover all Aston Martin models from DB7 (1994) to the current Vanquish. The approved car locator offers a high level of service and attention to detail that discerning customers have come to expect from Aston Martin. For each car it combines full specification, photography and details of any optional equipment and the pre-owned list will be updated on a daily basis.

The unique link between Aston Martin and its dealerships will also mean that all information and specifications will be cross-referenced with the factory’s own database to ensure absolute accuracy.

Alongside this programme, Aston Martin has also made an exclusive agreement with HPI, the leading vehicle information provider in the UK. Each approved pre-owned Aston Martin will come with an HPI check, NMR (National Mileage Register) check and a full NMR investigation as standard. This comprehensive package will also provide information about any outstanding finance, theft or a previous serious accident.

Ian Minards added: “This was the second element to our programme. The importance of thorough vehicle checks cannot be underestimated and working solely with HPI means we can maintain consistency across the Aston Martin brand and provide an excellent service to our customers.”

To complement this new focus on pre-owned car ownership, Aston Martin has launched an Approved Pre-owned Extra Cover Warranty Extension scheme applicable for all cars built since 1994.

All Aston Martins purchased through the Approved Pre-owned scheme will be covered by a minimum of 12 months warranty, inclusive of Aston Martin European Emergency Service. Customers will be able to purchase six, 12 or 24 month block warranty extensions that can be applied to all pre-owned Aston Martins built since 1994.
