200 horsepower goal all motor help
right now i got my 91 crx si with a stock b16 motor. i am looking to be at around 200hp. i have a 2.25 inch exhaust and cai. i am thinking headers, skunk2 stage 2 cams and gears, valvesprings and titanium retainers, getting n2o but i dont want to figure that into my hp goal. also running a skunk2 chipped pr3.

Here's what you do to get 200hp out of a b16 fairly easily but not cheap: Get a fully re-worked head (p&p, 5 angle valve job, new valves/retainers, etc), get a nice set of cams, header, intake, and exhaust, and you should be at or above 200hp.

hahaha...this guy.... Dump that torqueless b16. Well not the whole thing. Swap out the block with a gsr short block or a ITR short block. Build that bitch up and u can reach 200 EASILY with out fully modded motor. That was my planned set up till i sold the car and the block.

Re: 200 horsepower goal all motor help
A lot of people consider it forced induction. It is forcing N20 into the motor. To me it's not. Forced to me is turbo or SC

Re: 200 horsepower goal all motor help
9:1 compression pistons, ls cam's, h22 piston rings, 1987 civic dx injectors
![]() no j/k try the poor mans type r or ls or b20 vtec or a mildly built type r those would be the easiest to get 200 all motor hp out of and have more tq than a b16 would ever see

Re: 200 horsepower goal all motor help
if you're looking at 200hp at the ground, you have some work to do. stock b16s put out ~140hp to the wheels. thats a 60hp gain you need.
if all you're looking at is bolt ons, maybe you need a new hobby. You're going to need higher compression pistons, mild head work, large cams, ECU tuning, i/h/e, tuning, and oh, did i mention tuning? and its also true the b16 is torqueless. Not that this is really relevant to your question, but a friend of mine has a 94 del sol VTEC B16A3. he has Type R manifold, skunk2 valvetrain, zex stage 2 cams, PYR 9500 rev limit chip, 8lb fidanza flywheel, type r clutch, iceman intake, DC header, full 2.25" exhaust. He estimates about 200hp. I destroyed him with my SOHC VTEC turbo :P |
