94 Accord Transmission or normal?

I just got a 94 Honda Accord LX Sedan and I'm loving it but had a question.
It's shifting seems normally smooth but occasionally when accelerating from a stop it appears to hesitate and then jolt. A very similar feeling that you would have when it goes into passing gear or when it shifts to go up a steep hill.
My 88 Accord didn't do this but then again this seems to have more get up and go then the 88 did.
Any thoughts? I am so afraid it may be the transmission! I know it needs a new front axle perhaps that could be the problem?
We plan on getting the Tran fluid checked/flushed. Thanks in advance!

I take it that this is a auto trans, yes this is normal for these accords. I just brought one my self same year, make and model and was wondering the same thing, a few people told me it was normal just flush the trans with HONDA trans fluid and it will be a little better. So I did and it work alot better, still there but not so harsh.........

Yes, it is an Automatic. I drove it today and it seems to do it when it shifts from 3rd to 4th also. Just a hesitation. I checked the transmission fluid and it is not low, is a light pink and has no odor.
Thanks so much for replying.
