00 sentra (cheap mods)

hey guys my friend just got a 2000 nissan sentra se last night and were wondering some good cheap mods for it. hes got 5g's to spend and we dont want no interior mods only exterior or motor things.any cheap ideas?i told him to get a nismo intake manifold and injen intake and upgrade the exhaust and random engine parts.we already got a system in just need some ideas. is anyone selling a very cheap spec V body kit? he lives in pittsburgh pa and hes looking for a cheap one so it gives a different look.peace guys

I'm going to start off sounding like an asshole, but bear with me.

That car he has is very rare, and very precious to those of us that have them as well. Please, please for the love of god don't screw it up with an unpainted body kit, neons, stickers, decals, graphics, led washer nozzles, or any of that crap. A spec body kit might be alright, but IMO it would be a waste of money. He has a goldmine under the hood, and if he has $5k he's willing to spend, that could easily be a high 12 second car (read: run very well with a camaro ss, trans am, and the like from a stop, and slaughter them from a roll). The engine is all but bulletproof, all it needs is a an upgraded fuel system and a small turbo to get it up to 250whp, and with a larger turbo it could be at 300-350whp without a problem.

If he wants to go turbo (the engine is begging for it, trust me ), then talk to Travis at FIR and he can set him up. Don't let him waste his time/money with the normal bolt-ons like an intake, header, etc unless he KNOWS he doesn't want to go turbo.

Just for your information, have you heard about the Nissan Silvia in Japan? How about the Bluebird or Pulsar GTI-R? Your friend has the same engine as those cars, just without the turbo and a few other small goodies. It's really a precious engine, and it's since been discontinued. The 00-01 Sentra SE is the 2nd to last car to ever have that engine in the US (the last is the 02 Infiniti G20). If you want to do more research, the engine code is the sr20de, the sr20det is the engine in the silvia, bluebird, and pulsar.

ok he is interested in the turbo but he wants a big turbo and he just took out a loan for almost 22g's.hook him up cuz were goin to build the whole motor.we need ideas for pistons,rods,turbo,cams,manifolds,exhaust and all sorts of things we already talked about an EMS and apexi controllers and thinking 720 cc injectors,3 inch exhaust and tein or toda racing suspenion and were tring to find Rev titanium valve springs adn retainers and lifters.and if u have pics of bodykits were open to them too

Your best bet will be to email Trav, he can tell you way more about what you need to do than I can. Internals on the engine will be both unnecessary, and out of his $5k price range, so I wouldn't look too hard at those.
