Shift knob...

Welp, just joined and I hope I contribute to this (hopefully) wonderful board! Anywho, down the matter at hand. I recently got an Ichiban shift knob for my '98 Intrigue. But I can't figure out for the life of me how to get my current one off. I asked around town to see if someone could tell me but a fee was always asked of me So anyways...can anyone help me with this problem of mine!? THANX!!

There is a little metal retaining clip on the front of the shift lever (barely visible through a tiny slot there). Use a small screwdriver or similar device to slip it out. The knob will then slide off the top of the metal post underneath. It may take a little wiggling and pulling, but once the retaining clip is out it will come off. Don't pull too hard - the leather boot is attached to the knob.
