SAS brakes on a Tamiya kit - is this correct?

This is my first time with photo etched parts, so please bear with me! I am using scale auto style's slotted disk brakes with my rx7, so I assume that the original disk brakes will be left out of the kit, and the photoetched brakes super glued to the hub carrier (rear) and the steering blocks (front). Is this correct?

Also, I'm going to use Fujimi rims (18 inchers heh) to replace the stock rims. They don't fit directly on the car since the originals were male, so I intend to cut down the insides of the rims till they can be super glued onto the hub carrier. Is this right? I don't need the wheels moving as this car will be part of a larger scene.

Thanks!

GW

PS: Hub carriers and steering blocks are from the r/c world, if this doesn't apply to scale or full scale, do correct me.

GW, they are designed so that they fit onto the hubs, ie the original plastic brake disc and caliper needs to cut away so that you retain the hub the polycap fits into, the disc is then attached to this and assembled as normal. With the project your working on and with the use of Fujimi wheels this may not be necessary unless you go for a female to male wheel conversion (see How-To's). Instead you could opt to attach the discs to the fujimi wheel by gluing it to the polycap housing. Hope this makes sense

Hi Chris,
Thanks! That clears it up alot! I'll have to try cutting up the original brake disks then.
