cant stand those who think cavs&civics can hang

my friend who doesnt know shit about cars especially his thought his z24 cavalier could hang with my 3000 it was sad way more than 4 car lengths. they talk crap but i just dont get it there cars are slow unless theyve got 2500+ in mods theyre in some kinda slow car denial or somethin.

2 stories come to mind:

1) one night i went to a place with a bunch of other cars that was real out of the way so we could drag. i did not really want to run but just watch and see what it was all about. anyway, so i was trying to be friendy and i asked another person there which car was theirs. they pointed to a cavalier and said that one. i said right on, what can you run in that? he replied 12's. and i was like wtf?!?!?!? but i really just said right on and walked away. anyway, some people convinced me to run and i ran once against some car and won easily but going into 2nd gear i got a horrible grinding noise (that was when my 2nd gear synchro went out). then after that i went one more time and i was lined up against the "12 sec" cava-lier. i was parked on the side of the road in some mud before that so on the launch i launched as normal but spun the wheels for about a second (one second off of my 1/4 mile) then i took off (mind you my friend was also riding shotgun) and again i had problems going into 2nd that cost me at least another second. so that is a normal 1/4 mile for me only add on 2 seconds and a passenger. i still beat him by at least a few carlengths.

so if my mods are any indication of what i SHOULD run than i should have been at about 13.7 up here (~6000 feet) and tack on, lets say 2.3 seconds (the other .3 for the passenger and the fact that the 2nd gear shift took me over a second) and that is a 16 sec 1/4 mile. and he was way behind me still. 12 sec car my ass


2) ok this one is a lot shorter. i was cruzing around one night at a local cruze strip and a late 80ish beat up looking accord pulls up to me at a light. he says "does that thing have a turbo?" i reply "two of them acctually." he responds "you wanna race?" i am thinking that this guy is the biggest fool in the world for even asking but i am trying not to be rude so i say "no i have to wait until i fix my tranny before i race anymore" which was the truth because this was after the 2nd gear synchro went out and the 1st gear synchro had been out for a while. but seriously, wtf was this guy thinking? i could have run a 1/4 mile in the time it took him to run an 1/8

yea i was at a stop light about aa week ago and a civic with about 4 sIR badge lines up starts to rev on me i let him go first started off in second and still beat him handily, i strated in second just to see if i could do it well it worked. good job bro keep killin those wannabees

one more thought. i at least try to keep this in mind. if i saw a ferrari and i was bpu or something, i would still want to race it even though i would get my ass handed to me. it would just be cool to see what i could do against a ferrari. maybe that is how these kids feel about our cars... then again, if they are dumb they probably just think hey, my civic could beat that heavy pos, just like the civics in the f&tf

if i am not mistaken, a good tune ss and a good tune vr-4 should be about equal in the 1/4 with equal drivers.
