I hate to say it but those bronze rims look good. Does have 18's give alot of ride degradation ?
It looks really good though ..... |

Thanx for all the good comments...but actually their gold but close enough
I was kinda hesitant about getting gold wheels at first but I pretty much said f*ck it, if it looked bad I'll sell them or something, but since I've got them, I've had nothing but good comments on them, so they're a keeper, for sure. I have my 18's on some 215/40 rated Yokohama Parada's and the ride did get a little stiffer but still comfortable and it got more controllable, it didn't feel like I was gonna float off the highway anymore. Now its time for my drop, this is what scares me the most when it comes to ride quality, but I know it'll turn out good so I'm crossing my fingers. b-boogie - speaking of 19's, if i had a choice I'd get these...their two piece forged aluminum ultra light wheels - the D-06's by Dronell...mmmm..I wish these came in gold hehe ![]() www.aktusa.com/wheels/dronell/dronelld06.html

Correct me if Im wrong, but shouldnt you be running 35 profiles on 18 inch wheels? Im also running 215 40's, but that is on 17 inch wheels. I suppose it doesnt matter to much, you will just end up with a bigger diameter wheel.

actually with 17's you should use 215/45/17's ...with 40's you are undersizing.. w/ the 45's you are over sizing but by half as much as the 40's would undersize you... neither of these are extremes and you can barely notice...
to get as close to the stock overall diameter you should use 225/35/18 or 215/40/18(not every company makes these).... 215/35/18 is a smidge to small... and 225/40/18 (what i use) is just a smidge oversized ![]() i run them a bit bigger (i think its 8 tenths of an inch bigger overall) because where i live there are enormous potholes!!! ![]() i used to run ultra low 215/35/18's and blew out and totally damaged my 2 rear wheels... had to get new ones ($500 each) and i got bigger tires all around... so i learned the hard way Last edited by b-b00gie; 05-02-2001 at 06:44 PM. |

Sorry. I was refering to the standard wheel size on a p10, not a p11. It has 195/60/14's which is an overall diameter of 23.2 inches. Hence why I use 215/40/17's (Overall diameter of 23.7). That extra inch makes all the difference!

b-bOOgie.....how do you get on with your 18"s?
I have 235/40/18 and i'm thinking of trading down to 17"s as i'm finding that when i hit big potholes the tyres rub on the guards. After getting them lipped which i thought would fix the problem, they still do it every now and then. I have now found out now that it is the sideways movement of the wheel in the arch which really surprised me. Dont really want to go to a smaller size like a 35 series etc, as like you said ,as it makes the ride worse and in case of blowouts. |
