Angry 98 neon shift knob...

how the hell do i get the shift knob off my car? i bought a momo shift knob and the thing is obviously not just a screw off..so please someone help. this thing has to go on...its to pretty to be sittin on my desk.

You have to pull the covering that is around your lever down. Once you do that, there is a spot on each side of the lever that you have to pull out while you are pulling up on the knob. It is much easier to do with a friend to help. You might have to pry the covering a little bit with a screwdriver or something to get it started though.

Pull the boot all the way down and look for the botom of the shifter. There are 2 tabs on the side of the shift arm. that u have to lift up and pull both of them outwards towrds the doors and pull up.,., Its easy when you see it.It is not a twist off there are no threads..,If that dont help look at this link http://neons.org/howtos/shiftknob.shtml

I put one in my car, even though its ATX, you can view it on the link below if you have ImageStation, if not then you should sign up...
