Help

I got 3 JL Audio W6 10s but currently am only feeding around 300 watts to one of them and I want to know how much better or louder it would sound if I were to hook up the other two with 300 watts to each. Someone hooked me up with those subs for free, in case you're wondering why I got 3.

Re: Help

Wait, do you mean the 300 watts to all three? or hook up two more 300 watt amps and have 300 watts running to each sub?

If you are simply adding on 2 more subs to the one amp, buy yourself some fuses cuz you're gonna need em.

I guess i wasn't clear enough. I was thinking about getting a 1000 watt rms amp to power all three. Or since i already got one for one of the subs, i could get a 600 watt or 800 watt rms amp to power the other two.

with 3 jl 10w6 it should it hard, alot of my friends have jl subs, they all hit really good, also if u wire the 3 subs together u might get a 1.5 ohm load or something, so make sure your amp can take it (ppi and jl make amps that are good for that)

Re: Help

Just a note, if you look at WinISD you will notice with every sub you add you add about .4 more or less depending on the sub to the QTC meaning less quality.

Re: Help

(3) 10w6 can be wired to 1ohm or 3ohm.

they will get louder before they distort. much louder with 3 than a single 10w6. How do i know? i had 10w6s before

if you are like many who needs to "fully" power their subs, get an amp that does at least 900x1@1ohm RMS. don't go skimpy on the brand either.
