Question Flowmaster

Going to get a new muffler for my 3.4. Don't want to spend the money on the Borla or even magnaflow. SO, going with the flowmaster. I heard that SLP Loudmouth was unbearably loud in the interior. I currently have the 1in/out and am going to get the 1in 2out. What series of flowmaster should i get?? Anyone got one? Also, heard a camaro with an unknown brand of muffler. Sounded great at idle but bad at speeds. Will flowmaster do this to me??
Thanx

I went w/Flow Masters American Thunder Catback System. Sounds really great in, and esp good out. But I would strongly recomend getting tips. At high RPM it screams really loud making it sound like a little import comming down the street... The tips should help some...

Re: Flowmaster

80 Series flowmasters sound real nice on the 3.8's.. they might be a bit big for the 3.4's but ive never heard one..
listen to the 60 series delta flow.. might be the muffler for you

Re: Flowmaster

Well a V6 is always gonna sound like a V6 no matter what you do.. If you get a muffler designed for smaller engines, it wont be as bad.. Yeah if you put a Borla or flowmaster on there thats meant for a 350, its gonna sound like a$$

Re: Flowmaster

When I hooked up a stereo in my girlfriends 3.8, the Line level adapter had a bad ground so there was always a slight rumble coming out of the subs.. If you turned the amp up, that car sounded mean as hell!! and itd get louder with the RPM..

Re: Flowmaster

yeah man, i heard a flowmaster on a V6, sounded like an exhaust leak, but ive only heard that one, so maybe it did have an exhaust leak, but i know it didnt sound good. i would go borla or magnaflow.

Re: Flowmaster

Sweet, thanks guys. Hey, i've been doing some checking around. I was told the magnflow is the only way to go. Flowmaster didn't sound good at higher RPMs. SO, its going to be magnaflow. Also, the guy said that if i supplied the muffler, he would install the pipes and all for $75. Good price i thought. Doesn't include tips. Thanks again!
