I need info on the CRX.
Hey guys, can anybody give me some info on the crx's.
Whats the most powerfull version of them?? How much added horsepower can a stock crx take without having any problems?? Lets say I have about 3000 to use for modifying my crx.............. WHat can I do to make my crx be a horsepower monster and go fast as hell without actually turbocharging it or swapping engines?? How much horsepower would be added if I was to install good quality header, cold air intake, and exhaust??? What else can I do to boost performance??? What are the horsepower adding stages for crx?? How much nitrous can a crx take??? Whats the most horsepower I can get without turbocharging or swapping engines?? WHats the most horsepower I can get from turbocharging it??? ... dont hesitate to add more info which I did not ask. thanks dudes. |

Re: I need info on the CRX.
It sounds like you don't want to swap engines, but it would almost be better than to build up the stock engine. There are two common Integra motors that will bolt right in with the right mounts (b18c1 GSR and b18c5 Type R). And if you want to be really extreme you can put the h22 prelude engine in, but it'll take some work and possibly some modification as well. The Integra engines range from about 180hp-210hp.

Re: I need info on the CRX.
Swap in a b18a1 out of a 1990-93 Integra, lots of torque and cheap too.
If you don't want to swap engines, you could use a SOHC VTEC head from either d16z6 or d16y8... D series engines can get about 150-160hp N/A and still be very streetable...

A d16y8 is a SOHC VTEC OBDII motor out of 96-00 civic vtec (exept 99-00 Si). Its making ~135hp.
A d16z6 is a SOHC VTEC OBDI motor out of 92-95 civic vtec. Its making ~125-130hp. A b18a1 is a DOHC nonvtec OBD0 (?) motor out of ??-?? acura integras. ITs making ~130hp w/ WAYYYY more torque than the SOHC motors.

Re: I need info on the CRX.
with 3000 dollars i would do a b series swap or d series turbo. not worth the money to put i/h/e on a stock d series motor.
