Unhappy '95 Wiper Problem. .park too high & short stroke

1995 Bonneville Wiper Problem.
Wipers do not park low enough and have short stroke while running.

I just got a 1995 Pontiac Bonneville and it has a wiper problem. It actually has two wiper problems, which I believe are connected. First problem is the wipers don’t park low enough on the windshield. They park about six inches too high. This is very annoying while driving, especially when the wipers are on intermittent and the wipers park even higher. The other problem is the wiper stroke length is too short. The wipers are wiping only a small area on the windshield. They don’t start low enough and stop not high enough. Has anyone had the same problem? Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer!!

Cool

I fixed my wipers. I basically just took out the crank arm, which rotates 360 degrees. This part is responsible for the stroke length. I then just smashed it with a hammer (made it longer). This increased the stroke and fixed the problem. Be careful, a little change in this part results in a huge change of wiper travel.
