Sauber Mercedes C9

My third rebuild of this model. I finally did it in the Kouros colours and I think it looks great!

Some of the glass is still a bit light blueish (From last build when I didn't know what I was doing with the glass!)

I did the gold on the wheels with a pencil, painted it a mix of Tamiya - Royal Blue-Black-Metallic Blue

Thanks,

F.C

Looks like this is made from plasticine.

Previous comments seem a bit harsh to me, at least you are having a go and enjoying yourself! It looks like you painted it with a brush, maybe next time you could try using a spray paint to improve the finish, I would suggest practicing on some simple cheap models so that you can improve your skills. There are plenty of tips on painting and other methods needed to obtain a great finish for your model on this site that you could look at too! Good luck with your next build!

Re: Sauber Mercedes C9

Yep, agree with Viccario. Try spraying the paint from an air brush or automotive spray can. The results will be more satisfying.

It looks like you have used styrene glue for the clear (window) parts. Styrene glue 'melts' the plastic and paint, which explains the 'blue' seeping onto the clear parts. As an alternative for your next build, you should use PVA glue, which takes a little longer to set, but will not mark the clear plastic, as it is water soluble.

Keep up the modelling, practice makes perfect.

I have an airbrush that I am getting better at but recently we have been having some cold and wet weather. When it warms up (going into Spring), and I have some new models, my airbrush will be spraying like it never has been!

Thanks for the comments, at least some of you are a nice!

Sometimes I just find it easier than using the airbrush. With all the cleaning and preporation!
