Question Maybe a flooded engine...?

Hey there,

My girlfriend has just gone through a big puddle at about 35mph. The engine didn't stall but the car got completely covered and as we drove it home it chugged and spluttered. Should I try to start the engine? If the car didn't stall could the engine still be damaged? HELP I dont want to act too late and not be able to save costly repairs!

Any advice would be very welcomed.

Matt

Re: Maybe a flooded engine...?

Sounds like you need a tuneup. It could be that you have a bad distributer cap (cracked). It could have a hairline crack (naked to the eye). It could have bad spark plug wires. Or the coil could have gotton wet. Water and electricity don't mix! All this would be taken care of with a tuneup. That would be my suggestion....
