check engine light

my check engine light is on and i took it to get diagnosed, he said the problem was that i dont have a catalytic convertor, is there anyway to get the light to go off??? i tried disconnecting the battery for a half hour, but that didnt work, any other ways/

MIL Eliminator would do it. However I don't know if 4 cyl. stangs are the same. Most likely they are, but that still means you would have to buy two as a kit.

Re: check engine light

I find it hard to believe that the catalyst is the result of your check engine light. The O2 sensor is hooked up before the cat is sampling, so it should not have an effect, pretty much the same way the 302's run without problems because of no cats.

well 2.3s have a cat and a pre cat, the pre cat is supposed to be right after the exhuast manifold, if that makes any difference

Mine would come on right after I started up and would stay on for a little less than a min.
