Awesome Night!

I went cruisin with some friends tonight.. me with my 99 Cobra, my cousins 02 firehawk, 98 Z28, and moded GTP.. We went down to the beach here and there were some nice cars.. tons of DSM's with blow off valves and 1 SRT-4, but the two cars i took interest in were a 98 taurus SHO with a supercharger running 325 FWHP, and an 80's style RX-7 with an LS6 in it... I talked to the two guys for a while a realized they were ppl who know there shit.. the rx-7 is dynoing 350 rwhp and weighs in at 2700-2900lbs. he has some bolt ons but nothing crazy.. he says he runs low 12's.. Well after all the talking we went on a parkway that runs from rochester all the way to niagra falls.. tons of straight roads perfect for high speeds... first the SHO and the RX7 go at it.. rx7 murdered it hardcore everytime.. these guys were reaching speeds of up to 160.. So i figured i'd take on the SHO first.. we start off at a 40mph roll.. he honks three times and we go.. I pull about a foot ahead and he remains at my door all the way up to 125mph.. next we go from 70.. and again at my door all the way up to 135 this run.. we do a couple more and then we go from a dead stop.. From the stop i pull about a car length and a half on him and remains the same distance from that point up to what my girlfriend said was the better half of 148mph.. he later stated he was going 150.. i never took my eyes of the road cause i was shitting my pants so lol.. So i was surprised it was so close.. i go on to get spanked by the rx7 really bad lol he just pulled away nasty every time at every speed.. there was really no point... It was a great night, lots of cool cars that were actually fast.. there were also some geeks doing burnouts in there parents corolla every 10 minutes at the beach.. losers lol

Re: Awesome Night!

Cool, I raced a brand new WRX STi coming back from a Hockey game in Boulder, Colo. It was on a tollroad/interstate that nobody drives on. It went from a 70mph roll-on to around 150. I lost by about 2-3 carlengths. I couldn't believe that I actually kept up with it since they seem to be as fast as the new Cobras.

Re: Awesome Night!

eh, i'd say more 145ish... see thats the thing, i'm not 100% possitive i have 4:10 gears.. when i bought the car there was this box with all the info on the mods that were in it.. it came with qa1 shocks, ebach springs, and i saw a receipt for richmond 4:10 gears and the install on them.. so i'm assuming he never took them out cause if he wanted to get some money back for his mods he would had taken out the shocks too... so who knows.. 4th gear maxes out at like 120 if that helps..i was in 5th when i was doing 145..

Re: Awesome Night!

i'm pretty happy i can beat a supercharged SHO with 325whp.. we were all talking after and they honestly think i should have 320rwhp at least.. i was telling them its maybe more like 300 cause i don't have much done.. just the exhaust and pullies..

Good run, damn an RX7 with an LS6.

Yeah I had a pretty good night SAT. I was on my way home on the hwy and these two Rice burners with neon lights rode right up on my bumper. After about a mile they pull up on either side of me reving there fart cans, flashing there neon lights. One was an acura integra and the other was a newer model civic. Well as you know I hate imports especially fast n furious wanna be's with huge wings and stickers. So it was especially important that I kick there ass. So I armed the juice and downshifted and floored it. Kicked there ass real bad. I know they where just imports and I really didnt need the juice but if felt good.

When I got off the hwy while I was waiting on the light to turn. They pulled up next to me and neither one would look at me, funny they werent reving there fart cans anymore.

Re: Awesome Night!

hm, a supercharger on a pre 97 Taurus would have been more effective.. (even with the 1st and 2nd gen's having V6's their power/weight ratio was still much better)..heh...ls6 rx-7...heh..

Re: Awesome Night!

sounds like you did have fun... why would someone want to supercharge a boat of a Taurus anyway? They could spend that money else where but an RX-7 with an LS-6? That's wild. I'd be scared to ride in that thing. Just shows even the ricers like American muscle... they don't do it for the Mighty Rice Motors they like the looks... lol.. That reminds me of my weekend...

Re: Awesome Night!

yea speeking of scary, i recall the rx7 down shifting and flooring it around 80mph and fishtailing.. thats fuckin scary... my car spins going into forth, which scars the crap out of me, imagine going 120 and spinning lol i gotta say i respect the SHO guy.. He knows his stuff, sure its not a car most would pick to toy with, but his is put together nicely.. does all his own work.. plus the car looks cherry lol no stupid decales or stripes.. its stock with some shiny light weight wheels..
