Re: Strange Noise in Rear

check your muffler for knocking against the frame, I had to use a bunji cord to keep it from knocking.

ah I thought for sure it was the muffler, without the bungi cord, the muffler could vibrate back and forth about 1" or 2" since it is suspended on that rubber isolator. Definitely sounded like a knock or the shocks creaking, but it was banging against the hitch (don't know if you have one). Maybe it's your drum brakes since there is a sideways torsional force when you are turning?

Wait a minute! I seem to remember a long time ago my rear brake was making a creaking noise... I went to open it up and check it out... the brake caliper was leaking and causing the shoes to slip and make a popping sound - regardless of whether I was braking or not. Check your brakes - the least you could do is look behind the wheel and see if there is any leakage coming from the drum - all the accumulated dust can absorb so much then it'll start leaking outside.

I just had to replace the caliper... cleaned up the shoe instead of replacing it, been fine ever since. Those rear shoes wear very slowly... by the way.

Re: Strange Noise in Rear

Your noise could also be your strut bearings rattling. Mine does the same thing.
