Have i "lost" my chip-tuning during service?!!?
Dear all
I am the owner of a chip tuned Passat 1,8T. I bought it this way, and dont know much about it, but i love driving it. I dont know if tuning is a hardware thing og software thing that may be changed later on.. For some weeks ago thoug, it startet to get very hard to start, and lately I had seriously flat spots on high rev and during accelleration. Therefore I sent my car to service (60 000 service). I also got them to search for errors: After rinsing the gas intake, changing spark plugs, changing airfilter, oil and oilfilter, testing the sensor that adjusts airintake and measure the fuel pressure they found a leaking gas hose in the tank. They changed this, and the car starts perfectly, and runs ok. And here is the problem, before the service the car had a very good accelleartion and it felt like nitro around 4000 rpm. But now it just feels like an ordinary car.... :-( My question is then; can the service have changed any settings that have anything to do with tuning, and this is why the car feels different, OR is it possible that i still get to little gas. The car runs evenly and fine now, but maybe the sensor that adujsts the airintake makes sure of this even if my gas pressure still is too low??? Please please pleeease answer me if you know anything about this. I miss my car as it was before!!!! |

The only way to "loose" your chip tuning is to have the ECM replaced or re-programmed. And as of right now the only "reprogram" for the 1.8t ecm is for an evap emissions and i believe its for 03+.
