help!! 2 questions xperienced pref.D16Z6

1. Are the crank mount bolts torque to yield, if so do they have to be replaced when rebuilding, or are they ok to reuse?

2.Does the flywheel need to be balanced?

also any tips to help me rebuild my d16z6 block which i will be installing the zc pistons in on Monday will be appreciated. thanks

1. not 100% sure on your question but from my knowledge, its always a + to get new bolts no matter what, do it right the first time!

2. flywheel should be resurfaced and balanced each time you do a clutch replacement.. might as well get it lightened a little while your at it.

no they are torqued to a sepcific number, dont overtorque them or they could snap. get a new bolt anyway just to be safe.

definatly have the flywheel resurfaced, so you at least get good contact with the clutch. again while your in there, might as well upgrade it.

Guys i'm talking about the crank mount bolts are they ok to reuse or are they torque to yield(meaning you can't reuse them cause they expand) i bought a lightened flywheel New but i heard it has to get balanced i suppose since it's new it would be balanced right? any tips on rebuilding the d16z6 block and installing zc pistons?

Re: help!! 2 questions xperienced pref.

if you are talking about the bolts that hold the crank mains, then yes, it is a good idea to change those during a rebuild.

of course, calling it by the right term might "yield" correct answers.......
