97 Accord Bottoming Out?
Hey I'm brand new to this site and was wondering if someone could help me. I just lowered my 97 Accord with H&R sport springs. Don't have new struts on it yet but im planning on getting them soon. Everytime I go over bumps I can hear something in the rear suspension make a clunking noise. I'm wondering if that is the bump stop hitting or something like that. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

No the H&R info that came with the springs said that for Honda applications the bumpstops should be left alone but I have been hearing different things about that.

Re: 97 Accord Bottoming Out?
You should ALWAYS cut the bump stops when lowering. If it's clunking most likely the spring(s) are not set right.

Are you sure your hitting the bumbstops? It could just be a loose part, a mis-set spring like jackasssi mentioned, or it might be that your dampers are not stiff enough so your suspension is being allowed to compress to easily.

Look at the spring perch, see how it's not the same height all the way around? Your spring profile should follow that contour, it's like that on top too. |

Hey thanks a lot. I'll go ahead and check that out to make sure it's set right and maybe that will fix my clunking sound.
