ZR2 or Z71?

I know I'm asking this to a biased crowd, but...
I'm looking to get a new truck. I'm considering a 99 or 00 ZR2 with the 4.3 high output and a 96 or 97 K1500 with the 5.7. I had a 92 Z71 and loved the truck. I know a good bit about them. I don't know anything about the S10's. Any advice? TIA

JT

Re: ZR2 or Z71?

my friend Stacy has an 02' ZR2 extended cab in dark blue, 2,600 miles on it and loves it, The truck is so light and the 4.3 is peppy, Borla exhaust sounds nice on this model, she has a K&N intake, I prefer my sil

Re: ZR2 or Z71?

im getting annoyed with my reply getting chopped,,, anyways i was saying i prefer my silverado because of the larger bed space and I am tall and feel cramped in the S-10, overall they are great trucks, with many mods available. My last ride was a S-10 Blazer which had over 170,000 these trucks are pretty easy to work on as well..

The room's not as much an issue. I work my truck a lot, but not everyday, that's why I'm considering the s10. I don't want to be disappointed in the power of the 4.3 and regret my decision. Guess I need to go drive one.

Re: ZR2 or Z71?

on the weekends I pull a 10' trailer with 1 or 2 quads on it and I dont feel a difference at all, My blazer used to struggle up steep hills and mountains I forget the trailer is there sometimes, I like the power of my fullsize, Its nice knowing im not THAT GUY,, that 10 cars are stuck behind all the way up the white mountains... haha

Re: ZR2 or Z71?

Yeah, I'm gonna have a hard time going with anything but a full size. My old truck had a ton of power and I definitely miss that.
