all about the mopars

i'm not gonna diss all you chevy fans, but i am gonna say when it comes to muscle find me a production engine that'll beat a 426 hemi. You gotta respect the mopars for that one. It's the 455 killer.

Its a production engine. you never said anything about it having to come stock in a car. The 572 just came out.

right . coz they make a hellasios aftermarket HEMI also .

i still say the 440+6 is better than the HEMI . and the 427 425 horse is nothing to be laughed at either .

Re: all about the mopars

There are Huge Crate Hemi Engines too you know.

Dodge Underrated the Hemi, The 440+6 can keep up with the Hemi till 70 MPH then it drops off fast,

There's a reason the Ramchargers ruled the tracks in the 60's, It was the 426 my friend.

Re: all about the mopars

The chev 427 and the ford 427fe and the 427ohc where all engines to be recond with. The hemi name has just become a little blown out of perportion especially the new ones which are kinda a joke.

Re: all about the mopars

is there a way to turn a big block or any other kind of engine into a hemi? if so, i'd like to see what kind of power that 572 would have.

Re: all about the mopars

The hemi term referes to the the hemipherial disign of the combusion chamber (having the valves canted at an angle and the spark plug in the middle. The chevy big blocks also have canted valves how ever they still have a wedge disign with the spark plug on one side. Dodges hemi now as it was then was a bit of an advertizing gimic as half the cars on the road could argueable have hemi engines (honda, toyota to name a few). Dodge owns the rights to the name.
