Question Lowering 94 Lude

Whats up guys, i've been trying to decide on whether i wanna lower my 94 lude with either coilovers or springs. ( like the 4th gens aren't low enuff) but i wanted to know if i should just wait till i get the new struts/shocks, or if the stock 1's would hold the extra stress of my car being lowered. How many of u guys have lowered ur lude's w/ new struts/shocks and how many have lowered it w/o the new struts/shocks? I don't want ne 1 to critique what i'm saying...i just want some feed back from you guys

Re: Lowering 94 Lude

i lowered my 93, with kyb struts and nuespeed race spings. but i wouldn't recomend this setup. the springs are fine, but if i did it again, i would have gotten lowering struts, b/c i only dropped it 2 inches, and the factory length struts will not compress the spring.
another problem i ran into, is that the camber is way off on my rear wheels now, and i have to buy one of those overpriced camber kits to correct it.

Re: Lowering 94 Lude

yeah cambers is a big prob, id say coilovers the ability to adjust the height of your car is always a nice option, but if u lack the cash id just get new shocks and springs, i got Blistien shocks and Neuspeed springs and they work great. i've said it before and ill say it again i didnt get camber kits too much money i took my car to a allingment specialty shop and they bent the sterring knuckles on my car to the desired degree. I was running a -1 3/4 all around. now im at stock spec for a 4th which is 0 in the front -3/4 in the back

Re: Lowering 94 Lude

I did both. I put neuspeed sport springs on my car and, at first, only had new tokico illuminas on the rear. The fronts were being ordered, and I couldn't wait to do the install. I drove around with stock struts on the front for about a week with no problems at all. There was no leakage when I took them off either.

Also, I have a friend with a '96 integra that put neuspeed race springs on it, and to this day has the stock struts. He's had this setup for about a year and a half, with no problems that he knows of.

The whole reason for me asking about this is because i wanna do my suspension the right way, and i don't want to run into any problems down the road thats gonna make me have to spend 700 to fix, when i coulda spent 400 to do it right. Thanx for ur guys opinions

This is a project you could easily do yourself , if you have the right tools and a general knowledge of automobiles. The suspension design is pretty cut-and-dry as to how it goes together. I would invest in a factory service manual to help you along though, just in case.

If you REALLY do not want to do it yourself though, do it right the first time. Save up for struts. You never know what's going to come up later..
