well..im looking to buy one of these, only two things kept me from buying it on the spot. first, i turn the thing into his driveway after a flawless test drive, and it started to turn real hard, im thinking possible it was because we were on dirt and not moving..but maybe not. the second was after the drive, coolant was the scent in the air...and smoke was co ing from under the hood. im gonna go back and look during the day..but any suggestions?it ran perfect..temp guage wasnt up or anything..help me out because if its something minor im gonna end up getting a killer deal on this car

Re: 96 9c1

Sounds Like a coolant leak, slipping power stearing steam etc.. watch for leaking waterpump (aluminum thing on front of engine) that can ruin the opti-spark (distributer) and cost you about $600 at a shop. If it is a hose look closely those hoses should be green and should last a lifetime. If he has changed from those green (silicone) hoses I would be wary of what else he has gotten cheap with on that car.

Good Luck

p.s If u are near VA i can find u nice 9C1's all day.
