Engine lags @ 4500 RPM in 2nd!!!

I have a '90 eclipse GS 2.0 DOHC n/t ,5spd. When I take off really fast and redline all gears it lags in second gear @ about 4500 RPM then it will pick back up. All the other gears do not have this problem. I just had a new clutch put in, it has already been broken in. The engine has only about 8,000 miles on it. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

are your plugs and wires ok.

My car starts harder now, and at 4k it starts to pull noticably harder, like a spike in torque. I'm going to check/replace my plugs that are only a few thousand miles old.

Yea I had some sucky platinums and they went bad in <2000 miles. Yea platinums last longer my ass. NGK all the way

I went with NGK BPR6ES so I don't know what's up.

Shouldn't turbos be using 7es.

Dunno cause NT should use 6es and a lot of us run 5es. So did you put in a range hotter on purpose

use a slightly colder plug, platnum sucks with turbos, and i need a beer.

I have not put new plugs in yet. The wires are new, I have new bosch 4x plugs, just have'nt put 'em in yet.
