AMT announces new reissues

even though I know most people here arent interested in most of the cars, majority of modelers are going to eat up these reissues, alot of them havent been reissued in 20+ years

early 70's International Scout 4X4
72 Chevy Pickup (just bought a 95 issue a couple months ago)
Eleanor, from the original 1973 Gone in 60 Seconds, its a 71 Mustang
72 Pontiac GTO
74 Dodge Charger
74 Plymouth GTX (my "holy grail" model, I'm buying a case of them)
73 Murcury Cougar.

These are all reissues, and most are old MPC tools (which is a good thing) but all of them have been going for 50+ bucks on Ebay, even though AMT usually screws up alot of the newer Import style kits, its nice to see them reissue the good stuff, and maybe they can destroy the 69 Yenko tooling

Jeez, Racing Champions is really desperate to not tool up new kits.

Still, there's some good stuff in there. The International Scout and the '73 Cougar hold some interest to me.

Now they need to reissue their stock 1975 AMC Matador, the MPC Chevy Laguna stock car kit, and any Javelin kits they have stashed away.

I'll buy ten each of those Laguna and Matador kits for use at the slot track.

Some good reissues that haven't been seen before. Even better when they're at Hobby Lobby for 50% off!

Nice! I can hardly wait to add some classic American muscle next to the import racers and rally cars.

Actually that killer red car was a '71 GTX or Roadrunner, and I just saw a Revell kit of that at Hobby Lobby today..it's been around for awhile. The '74 was a "new" body style, do a google search and you'll see what it looks like. Still decent, but the '71's look better to me. The Revell kit is better than the old AMT/previously MPC '74 GTX...which actually I think is a '74 Roadrunner, but they might be naming it GTX for licencing/naming reasons.

actually, there's was no 74 GTX, MPC called it a GTX cause they could'nt get the licencing from Warner Brothers to call it a Road Runner, I won't be surprised to see AMT release this kit as an Road Runner. This kit has been going for over $100 on Ebay and online, saw an original 74 Road Runner sell for $150 a couple weeks ago.

you'd also be happy to know that all you need to convert it to a 70 is the front end, which AMT mistakingly put in the 67 GTO kit. there's alot some other minor stuff, which is easy to make.

Cool that the Scout is coming back out. I actually just picked one up (unbuilt) for about $10 a few months ago. None of the others really excite me. One that was already announced by AMT is the Corvair. I'm going to get several of them. They make fantastic road racers with the rear mounted engine.
