swappin' interior parts question

ok, i had a kinda crazy idea at work today. i was wondering if the center dash of a 99 civic would fit in a 98 civic. the part i'm talking about is the heater controls, radio, and vents. the shape of the whole asssembly looks the same the only question is if the harnesses and plugs are the same. the reason i ask is i want to put an eq in my car but i dont want to lose the pocket on the bottom where the cup holder is.

Yeah, I thought I wanted to try that too...
There's major wiring problems since the HVAC controls aren't the same.
Too much hassle for me. If you're willing to go through the headache of changing wires/harnesses, it can be done w/ minor cosmetic modification.
