Unhappy 318ti '97 No spark

The starter would not turn. I started the car by jumpering around the EWSII immobilizer relay contact (pins 1 and 3) that activates the starter. The car sat for a month. I got and replaced the EWSII immobilizer module, but it did not help with starting. When I jumpered around the contact again, the starter would turn as previously, but the car would not start - ther is no spark! What could be possible causes?

huh??? did you jump start it from the battery?? How old is battery? if its 4 or more years old you probably need a new battery.

I tried starting from a freshly charged battery, the starter is turning OK, it is the spark that is missing.
