Re: how many hp would i pull out of vtec h22 with a 7psi tubro?

Well that depends on the turbo setup you have. The general rule is like he said, 1psi=10hp. That is give or take though. Naturally a larger turbo will produce more power and a smaller one less. What size turbo are you thinking of?

What H22 are you talking about? (year and usdm or jdm) The JDM have a little more power because the USDM c/r is 10:1 while the JDM is 10.6:1. Also the JDM type S has 11:1 c/r. You really don't need to boost to much on the high compression. 7psi should be ok. Getting the power to the ground is going to be your worst problem.

Also other factors come into play.
Are you using an intercooler, FMIC, SMIC?
Is it tuned to it's best?
Any aftermarket parts?
Also if I can ask what car are you putting this in? It's going to be hard if you are putting it in a 4g.

2k on a good tubo? I'll sell you a perfect one for 3k You can piece together your own kit and spend about $1000 and have the exact parts you want. If it was me I would keep the B18 in the teg. Take the money you plan to use to buy the H22 and put it in teg parts. ie: Forged pistons, rods, cam shafts, port and polish the head, oversized valves, clutch, etc, etc. For what you will pay for the H22 swap you can have a built B18 with a t3/t4 turbo (for example) pushing 10 psi that will leave the H22 in the dust. Not only that with the built engine you can jack the boost up.

Re: how many hp would i pull out of vtec h22 with a 7psi tubro?

horsepower with a turbo on is calculated like this:

you start with your A/F ratio. lets say for example your A/F ratio is 12:1. (most likely its between 14 and 15 on your stock civic if its running good.) So, if you run 12 pounds of boost (psi), youll double your HP. For example if you've got an A/F ratio of 13.5:1. Let's also say that your car has a peak HP ratio of 110 HP. So, if you run 13.5 psi, you'll have approximately 220 HP. Get it? This is a better explanation that 1 ps i= 10 HP.

Re: how many hp would i pull out of vtec h22 with a 7psi tubro?

well it takes 1 Bar (14.7 PSI) to double your HP So using that 7/14.7=0.47619 190 * 1.47619 = ~280 HP at seven PSI.

If you do turbo the H22 (if you get it) make sure you build the bottom end up as good as u can, bc i heard they have weak bottom ends, compared to all other honda engines i mean.

Re: how many hp would i pull out of vtec h22 with a 7psi tubro?

turbos are overrated. i would go all motor, then add a turbo later if u still want. start from the ground up so u dont cut any corners.

get a b18c1 or c5 and put it in ur integra, then move from there. the h22 is gonna fuck ur handling and its not worth the extra dough.

Extra dough? A h22 will run you cheaper than a c1 or c5. Installation will be more of a bitch and maybe it will cost more in the long run.

Turbo's are over rated? Yeah right, turbo is the best way to increase your HP for the $. $1000 worth of turbo parts can get you aroung 300 extra hp. Can an all motor setup do this for $1000? No... A built turbo motor will run a lot stronger than an all motor.
