Angry Civic side markers, installation

I own a 96 civic hatchback and recently bought some clear side markers. I asssumed that I could simply pull the fender trim and replace it with the side marker, but the side marker has one big hole and fender trim has two small holes. I'm now thinking I might have to drill a hole in my fender above where the trim is, but below side mirror, in the sweet spot where markers supposed to go. By the looks of my "side marker light", the only way to make it fit flush is to make a really big rectangular hole. I've seen these same lights on civic's before so I know it's possible. If anybody has any advice on installing these that would be great. KG4MVP

Weather you install them where the poulding is, or above the moulding, you're going to have to drill out holes in your fender for the main part of the marker housing and wires to fit into.

For christ's sake, put them in the right place, and wire them to your turn signals like they are supposed to be, not to the headlights like some of hte retards I have seen...

What is the best way to go about doing this? Removing the fender and using a dremel tool? In other words being VERY careful? Let me know your opinion.

You could do that. I had a shop do mine, I couldn't trust myself to drill onto he body, LOL! They used a drill for the screw holes, and I believe a hole saw for the main housing hole.
