How to get the car on jackstands???

I have a '95 DX Coupe, and I don't see any logical place to put the jack stands on this car as everything appears to be covered in plastic. Also, if using a floor jack, where's the best place to lift? Thanks for any ideas.

There are the factory jack points along the pinchweld on the front and back of each side of the car. There are re-enforced points specifically for lifting, you'll know when you see them as the look slightly different than the rest of the weld. To jack up the entire front, there is a nice, solid point almost under the radiator, surrounded by splash guard and such which can make it hard to find, but it's in the middle and it is there. To jack up the entire back, put the jack on the tow hook and lift it.

You can safely support the car with stand(s) on any of the jack points. Personally, I just lift the front, and put the stands on the points on the front right and front left. Same for the rear but using the back points obviously.

Thanks, I'll check out the lifting points you mention. I have seen and used the crimped metal jacking points you mention, but the stands I have don't fit those crimped points - the 'groove' is way to deep and rounded. When I tried, it appeared that the jack stands would only be contacting the slick black plastic around the jacking points, and that didn't seem stable at all. Does anyone have knowledge of where to find jack stands that will fit this jacking point solidly?

I have the craftsman 3 ton jack and stands. I like the jack because it has a large saddle, and the stands will fit these cars.

I hate to keep bugging on this one, but does the plastic covering - that you can see along and under the doors, that wraps under the car - rest on the jack stand supports? Maybe not all models have that plastic cap over the frame rails??? Should I remove it before trying to place the car on stands?

I've never seen one without that plastic, unless it had a kit or something similar on it. As far as the stands, most of them have a dip in them, it centers the load on the stand which with this kind of weight and you being under it, is a good thing. Mine frequently touch the plastic part, but it's not resting on it. Without seeing how much it's touching or resting, the best advice I can give is to let it down slowly, and if it looks like it's digging in, or really bending, then stop and put it back up. You can also put a stand under the control arm, and a few other spots, but that lift point is the best.
