Xbox. What sane person would buy one?

Honestly, who would pay for an Xbox over a PS2 simply because the on the Xbox you can save cd's. When i asked one of my friends why he bought it over the PS2, he said, and i quote "dude, i can like save all kinds of songs to it and listen to them while im playing my game" im sorry, thats just stupid. i can do that with my cds and stereo system. Sure there are some games on the Xbox that arent on the PS2, but im not going to cry myself to sleep because i dont have them. Ive had loads of fun playing games on my regular playstation, and at least i know that ive got something good in the PS2, whereas the main reason people buy the Xbox so im told, is because it has a hard drive. what a waste. oh yeah, did i mention that i think bill gates is satan? but thats just my opinion so who really cares. anyways, thats my thoughts, anyone else got one?

Both systems are expandable, and both have many peripheral systems coming online soon.

(I just hope the PS2 stuff is better, cuz that's what I have... )

cause xbox is same price as ps2 and comes with 2 packin games (sega gt 2002 and jetset radio future)

the fact that it comes with 2 games means nothing, PS2 now has a game package too, and it comes with GT3, which in my opinion is better than sega GT2002 anyways, besides, microsoft doesnt have a greatest hits do they? thats when different games have sold certain amount and sony lowers their price to $19.99 apiece, not to mention you have to buy a 30 dollar remote for your Xbox just to get the DVD player to work, that just seems stupid to me seeing as PS2 you can use your controller.

Come on man! I have been shopping for one of these since they came out. I love PS2...but...the XBOX has taken the lead. Most all my friends have one, you can link them and play bad ass games like socom, madden, Halo...etc.! XBOX live! Plus I know a guy who has a program where he will put every game on the hard drive, plus a burn program, so when a new game comes out, all you have to do is rent it put it in and it burns it to the hard drive. PLUS, added all these emulators, so I can play every game made for NES, SNES, Sega, Sega CD, Neo Geo, Atari, and all those old arcade games like Ninja tutles, and the Simpsons! And then you ask the question "Who would pay for an XBOX over a PS2?"!

i really dont care if it can do all that stuff that you listed, it all comes down to money too. Besides, they have online gaming for PS2 as well, they have SOCOM on PS2. is that not one of the games you mentioned? i can play online as well so don't tell me that the Xbox is special because of that. im sure the Xbox is a good gaming machine, i guess one of the real reasons that im so against it is because its made by microsoft. I hate microsoft with a passion, bill gates is satan

I said in an earlier post that I was sure that the XBox was a good game machine, I just happen to have my opinions and you happen to have yours. an Xbox Nazi? kinda harsh don't you think? it would be different if i was saying Destroy all the xboxs' on earth, but thats not the case.

I bought one. But only because that's what my fiancee wanted for his b-day. He and his friends plug 4 together with 4 tvs and play 16-player Halo. But that's about all I know about the thing. I prefer to play Zoo Tycoon myself.

Well as far as I know the Xbox has a faster chip, more memory, and since it also has a hdd drive now worries with messing around with memory cards.
The only down side I can see to it as a system is you have to buy a seperate remote to watch DVDs.


As a piece of technology I think its better than a PS2.
But thats it.
The PS2 simply has a far far better selection of games, and considering MS insistance on doing everything in house, and keeping the code for the Xbox secret it always will.
I dont want a game machine that has the best technology, I want a game machine that plays the best games.
Ok the Xbox has Halo and Sega GT, but the PS2 has TimeSplitters and GT3 Aspec. Not to mention a list of games so long I dont even know 10% of them.

its which one you prefer as opposed to the other, even though you might have both, more than likely one of the two gets more attention. such as when N64 first came out, i had that and i had a PS1, even though the N64 had some good games and i liked it, i still played my PS1 more. make sense?

PS2 kicks a$$. The only reason sane people buy one is that you can save cds on it, and that's about it. Sony also has a lot of talent in other fields of technology. PS3 should have surround sound.

XBox doesn't have enough good games that are unique for the system. No Final Fantasy, and actually no real roleplaying games. Halo's great, but can't be the only game.
