Tensioner wabbling after T-belt R/R

I replaced my timing belt, tensioner roller, water pump, the other roller, but not the tensioner pusher. After a month I started getting that loud noise. When I pulled off the T-belt covers I could see the tensioner roller wabbling. At 3k RPM's it smothed out. Since it seemed like a pusher issue (and I live in B.F.E.) I replaced the internal pusher spring with a heavier spring just to test. It's better now, but not fixed.

I'm trying to figure out if the T-belt could have stretched (defective) or the pusher is just bad.

I guess I should just replace both. It's just nice to know what the deal is....

No matter what though I gotta say .... 170K and it's still kickin butt !

You and just about anyone else who pas replaced the timing belt without replacing the timing belt tensor at the same time end up with the tensor going out within the next 1-10k worth of miles. This is very common. Replace the belt tensor and you Rodeo should be happy once again.

The pusher is hydraulic. I just replaced mine, it was making a heck of a racket.

Easier said than done when your on a tight budget and they cost $75. I replaced the tensioner but the belt will have to wait until another day.
