Clunking noise..help!
Hello,
I'm at a loss for what to do next. My 2002 LS makes a clunking noice at the front end under both tires area when i hit bumps. The noise is not noticeable when i'm going at speeds higher than 60Kms per hr. I have replaced the following; 1)front sway bar links 2) rear sway bar links 3) ball joints - arms 4) wheel bearings What else could it be? Thanks for your time and help. |

Re: Clunking noise..help!
As the car matures you will pick up more noise!
I would look at motor mounts + muffler hangers next. Rubber + plastic is unstable.Heat, oil, and weather will age rubber mounted parts. At higher speeds with a frim suspenshion your struts could be topping out. MCGIVER |

Re: Clunking noise..help!
Welcome to the forum!
Does it sound like the standard noise that would be experienced with worn sway bar end links or ball joints just starting to have play, or is it a "looser" sound than that? Assuming it's the expected noise for a loose suspension part, I'd look a bit more at the upper strut plates and the struts, as well as the inner and outer tie rod ends. -Rod |
