Braided hoselines

I'm going to be digging through and replacing as many ugly black hoses possible with braided lines. I saw some package thing with a bunch in there, but I'm not sure if you wrap them around the hoses already installed or what.. Has anybody done this? Any advice? I think it makes everything look 10x cleaner.

You should just clean it up in general, hide wiring, wipe it down, degrease it, route everythind so it looks cleaner. Colored lookms and hose covers are weak sauce...

Clean

IMO adding covers to wires and hoses ads to the clutter and really serves no purpose. It you just clean it, it looks a lot less messy, and nicer. If you like the covers go ahead.

To me, this looks crappy...

Not the boosted B16, but the red wires and hoses, they just look out of place.

that engine looks out of place just cause the only think thats red is the hoses. i think it looks 10x nicer when everything is one color. valve cover, intake, header, spark plug wires, distrubater, hoses ect..
thats what im doing cause my car's painted gun metal but the engine bay is still red so im gonna make everything else red to.

no, i dont necissarily think that is true about everything being the same color. to me, that looks pretty damn tacky and if that was the case, why dont show car builders just buy some nice high quality paint and spray their entire engine bays one color? thats like going to the club/bar/whatever in a red velour jumpsuit...some chicks are gonna dig it, but only nasty/dirty/worked ones (not the ones you want, well at least me). but if you go to the club in a nice pair of khaki's and a polo shirt youre probably not gonna be rollin out of there with courtney love at the end of the night.

come spring i plan on making the h22 gleam. im gonna add to ricochets thread by asking: where can i go about, if they even sell them, buying an OEM hose kit or something like that? i have the bomb ass hookup at Napa and i think when mother nature decides to pull her thumb out of her ass ill roll in there and see if they can hook me up...

Re: Braided hoselines

NAPA, Autozone, Pepboys, Honda dealer, all those should have OEM hoses. Get a bottle of simple Green, and some paper towels, and go to town.

If you are going to go with fake AN braded hose, get the real stuff. the stuff that slides over the hose is crap. we put it on my buddys mustang and after like the 2 hours of trying to get it on each hose (very tight) like within a week it looked bad, you can tell its not the real stuff. AN lines are expensive though.

Re: Re: Braided hoselines

ill probably go the simple green route, does that stuff leave the hoses looking dull or does it give them a shine? about the oem hoses, i was actually wondering if napa or whoever had whole kits, like say all the major hoses in one package or if they sold them individually...probably a stupid questionand im just being a dick.
