Me vs. Camaro, Me vs. SHO

Well stil havent raced anyone from a dead stop yet but on the way from getting my exhaust done my buddy has a 92 SHO 5 speed and thats a quick car, we were at about a 30mph roll, he gets on it so i got on it and blew right by him, he calls my celli and is like " dude i want your car, i just like nutted myself, i was couldnt even keep up" so then we are driving about about 10 min later, i am behind him, he hits the hazards and drops a gear, it was still a double lane road but i didnt feel like passing him. so i just road his ass, i didnt have to take it over 6000, and i was just boosting on him the whole time. he called me up after and says "I want your car, that thing is nasty, i just nutted myself every time i heard the BOV. I couldnt even pull on you and I was hitting rev limter.

That made my day since alot of people thought his car was really fast and all since he ran like a high 14, even though this was from a roll, his car doesnt start moving until 3rd anyway because its so heavy and you got to wait for the secondarys to open.

Last night, 12:30 in the morning, I see a black 95ish camaro, z28 emblems on the side, had a aftermarket exhaust, but rectangle tips so i dont know what kind it was- sounded good though so I come up on him, drive on the side then slowly pull away (so he cant hear the turbo) a few minutes later he comes flying by me, then slows down, so i catch back up and get on the side of him, we slow down to about 50-55mph. I pointed at him and told him to go and he took off, so yut its on now, i nailed it and to my surpize (and his) i caught up and passed him. then we did it again and i pulled on him once again, he gave me the thumbs up as i was taking my exit. now i hate racing on the highway because i hate going stupid fast but wow what a rush. I dont know if he would of beat me in the 1/4 but i pulled on him from a roll, and i would think i could beat him in the 1/4 then because i could probably get a better launch and my car is lighter but i dont know, either way it was a LT1 camaro so im happy.

I cant wait to take her to the track and see what she runs now. oh yea no flames about the camaro I did not make it up. Im not saying i pulled on him like it was a escort or something, i pulled on him enough to go damn though, i let off after i had about 2 car lenghts on him.

Nice kills bro...

Just for info purposes though, if it had black rectangle tips, it was probably the stock exhaust. LT1's are pretty loud stock. If it was louder than stock like you said, the he probably had headers and/or a gutted cat.

Nice job.. sounds like some cool people in your area too. most people here get mad if you beat them. Only 5 psi? Thats pretty impressive considering that, way to go man.

thanks guys, yea most people are cool about racing around here.

I bet that Camaro had either hollowed out cats or a Y pipe because it was loud but after looking at some pictures those were stock Z28 tips.

Im still surpized how quick my car is now, I just started playing with the boost controller and I got it at 6psi now, I dont want to run it more then that with no intercooler. just for shits and gigles i cranked it all the way and shifted when it hit 10psi, it was at 10psi at about 4000 rpm and wow it was fast, i wish i could run that all the time but i need my motor to last.

I got a guy around here with a 03 Mach 1 mustang, I have driven these because i work at a ford dealership but they really dont seem that quick allthough they spec out pretty fast. I bet this thing will tear me up, but then again if I can get him off the line it might be a desent race, Do you guys think I have any chances of beating him (at 6psi)? I dont want to race him if I am going to look silly, and I know if I do loose Im gonna want to reach for the boost controller and end up driving home on a tow truck. lol

eeek....mach 1...if im not mistaken dont they come with the supercharged cobra engine? thatd make em what-13 flat in the 1/4? youre probably mid/high 13's....i dunno....get a good launch and osme good shifts in there and it may be close. I dont quite know though.

The Mach1's modular engine is based off of the 99' and 01' Cobra's motor, just tuned for more low-end power. NO supercharger.

They have been known to turn low 13's bone-stock.

IntegraB18, I am not sure you'd be able to hang with just 6psi, especially from a stop, although you'll probably have a better chance from a roll.

the Mach 1 is pretty much a mustang GT, with the cobra motor without the supercharger, it is 5 speed and stright axle, the cobra is IRS and 6 speed.

I guess i'll race him for fun, see what happins i am 95% sure he will smoke me but there is a little chance i could take him, depending on traction and if he knows how to drive at all, he doesnt seem like he knows how to and just has the car to try to get girls.

Good hunting man. Soon the consistant winning will get old and you'll want a bigger challenge, and none of the faster guys will even bother. Been there.

Re: Me vs. Camaro, Me vs. SHO

Mach 1's have 305 hp and run 13.9-14.1 stock.. they have a DOHC 4.6.... LT1 camaro's run 14.4 and don't have much top end..i think it would beet your car in the quarter..
